Missions in Thailand

Arie and Jeanette Droogendijk are stationed in Samakkhi, Thailand and they help run the Thailand Samakkhi Church (TSC) Mission of the Calvary Jurong Church of Singapore. Here is a little update from their work in Thailand:

 

 

 

We help the people of TSC to go to hospital appointments and to accompany children to and from orphanages and dorms. We also accompany the women to prison to visit their husbands as of their many husbands are in prison with lengthy sentences.

 

Once a month we visit the CCEC girls, to fellowship with them and also give them some pocket money and take them to a store so that they can buy any essential items. Once a week we walk the streets of Samakkhi to try to contact the people who don’t come to church. The purpose is to befriend them, show concern for them and reach them with the gospel.
Jeanette is also busy with the sewing programme, teaching some of the women about designing articles to sew, buying fabric etc. Arie cooks a simple meal for after the YF on Friday evenings.

 

 

 

 

We give out multi vitamins to the children when they come to TSC. Every two weeks, Jeanette prepares a craft that ties in to the Bible story for that week. We also give English tuition lessons to children and Jeanette to some of the adult women.

 

 

 

Twice a year, a team from Singapore will come to TSC. They help conduct a youth camp in the spring and Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS) in the fall. We also help with the Medical Mission, keep the inventory of the medication and buy what is needed.
